Former Disney Singer, Myra to Debut Latest Music Project with Latin/Urban Duo, Rey y Kaye.

If you were a 90's kid like us, you spent countless hours of your teenage years on AOL Instant Messenger (pre-AT&T DSL) chatting with your BFF's about the latest episode of Lizzie McGuire (starring Hilary Duff), and anxiously waiting for the latest spooky Disney Channel Original Movie release of director Mary Lambert's Halloweentown II: Kalabar's Revenge during the autumn season, who's notable works include Madonna, Janet Jackson, and The Go-Go's.

It was that same year in 2001, Walt Disney Record's first ever teen Pop music singing sensation, with no doubt an inspiration by Latina artists, like Selena Quintanilla and Gloria Estefan, burst onto our Trinitron television sets during the commercial breaks of The Proud Family (Kyla Pratt) and Even Stevens (Shia LaBeouf) with music videos for her cover of Martha and the Vandella's "Dancing in the Street" for the Recess: School's Out soundtrack, and "Miracles Happen (When You Believe)" written by Pamela Eileen Sheyne and Eliot John Kennedy, which was also used to promote the late Garry Marshall's Walt Disney Picture, The Princess Diaries, starring Anne Hathaway (who is set to play the role of Daphne Kluger in Oceans 8 to be released in 2018) and even played a minor role of Chelsea in Tim Hall's Max Keeble's Big Move, the best friend of Jenna (Alex D. Linz's love interest played by the Tyler Perry's Too Close to Home actress, Brooke Anne Smith).

After a crazy tour all over the world with stars like Aaron Carter, Hoku, A*Teens, O-Town, and the Backstreet Boys and features on many Disney-released compilation sets, Myra set off to Japan to promote the Japanese edition of her self-titled album released in the states, and the re-packaging of that album titled Myra+more both under Avex Trax, a record label in Japan which was met with major success for the then teenage "Miracles Happen" singer. Myra has been credited to have paved the way for past and current Latina Pop singers, and Pop singers in general under the wing of Disney such as; Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, Zendaya, Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus, Hilary Duff, Raven-Symoné and Lindsay Lohan just to name a few.

Fast-forwarding to 2007 Myra would be featured on RifRaf Entertainment presents: La Costa Nuestra, a Chicano Rap & R&B compilation set under Universal Music Group and Machete Records. The CD would feature two songs crediting Myra as the lead vocalist, "Get On Your Way (featuring Sporty Loco)" and "Lo Que Mas Te Gusta (featuring Dos Caraz)," along with the featured single by LA Chicano Rapper, Veze Skante featuring Myra singing the chorus and the breakdown which was accompanied by a music video directed by Jessy Terrero, that received major air play on MTV Tr3s's Mi TRL. It was just recently this year that the previous tracks have been met with major stream plays on the music streaming app, Spotify, which has made them climb significantly on the "Popular" list on her artist profile.

After a break from the spotlight to focus on raising her daughter, Jadah, Myra has returned and has since received two MTV News articles (click thumbnails above) written by Deepa Lakshmin, has been the headline performer for Modesto, California's Annual Gay Pride in the Park Festival (video) along with other performances, and won Premios Lo Nuestro Gay's (video) Female Singer of the Year award presented by Dorys Lopez and Valeria Montero in San Jose, CA all in the year of 2016.

On February 1st of this year, photos of Myra with a group of individuals that looked to be recording engineers stating "Creative Team. 2017 were coming for you! 🎈" were posted on an Instagram account of Award Winning Latin/Urban Recording Artists, Rey y Kaye. (photo above)

It was on May 10th that Myra re-grammed a post by the Sacramento-based Rap duo, Rey y Kaye that featured a clip of the 2001 "Miracles Happen" music video informing their followers about Myra, and teasing minor information on future projects which caught the eye of fellow entertainment blog, Tommy2.net where the secret project has also been mentioned.

No other news has been released about the collaboration, but judging by Rey y Kaye's sound we are confident the outcome is going to be amazing!! We will keep you posted on the latest information as soon as we hear anything.
