With the successful Emmy Award-winning reality/competition series, RuPaul’s Drag Race, where drag queens not only all over the country, but even other parts of the world come together to compete for a cash prize, the winning title, and of course a major international platform to be an example to our community, you could ask anyone who their favorite is and they will have an answer for you. We admit we used to be hooked just as much as the next ladyboy. Although we have since lost interest in the show, personally, we must say that we have had our share of entertainment by many a drag queen, and continue to do so. Even with all big names in the Drag Race community, one local queen from our teeny tiny piece of the world comes to mind, and is our personal favorite drag queen.
Her name is Sasha Glam Devaroe, and we admire her with every fiber of our being. We have watched her grow from her “baby drag” days to the successful (can we say, “business woman”) polished queen that we know her to be today. Coming from the country side of Stanislaus County, she has been booked locally, in other California cities, and has even gone as far as New York! She streams herself getting ready on Facebook Live frequently and we must say that we are amazed at how professional she has become with her skills that transforms her from David to Sasha to entertain her public.
With the help of her boyfriend, Larry, who designs and puts her outfits together for her, she puts on a terrific performance. We admire the team work they possess and the support Larry has for David (Sasha), along with the support of her mother, brother, sister and friends, we just simply cannot express it in enough words. We hope that one day you will get the chance to witness Sasha’s amazing presence to see just what we mean!
