'I am an artist, I am an entertainer, I am a dreamer, I am Steven D'Onofrio.'
Born on December 18, 1989 in New York, Steven D'Onofrio currently resides in Hollywood, California and is the sole creator of his very own web series, KAWNPAI; which can be viewed on his official Viewster profile. (please refer to the links below). In his bio, it states that D'Onofrio is fluent in three Asian languages that include Japanese, Mandarin Chinese and Korean. For two years, he resided in Tokyo, Japan where he studied. He is a fan of mixed drinks, and creates cocktails inspired by Anime and video game series. (Did we mention the cutie was a "gaymer")? Aside from his Viewster series, D'Onofrio has also created a series on YouTube titled, I Just Arted, where he and few famous friends get together to draw while drinking his signature cocktails.
We had discovered D'Onofrio around this time last year on Facebook during a random search for one of our favorite J-Pop artists, BoA Kwan. Being that most of his user names on just about all of his social media accounts are "StevenLovesBoA" he just so happened to be included on the roster of populated pages in our search. The name D'Onofrio got us hella curious, so we decided to take a little look-see. Before we knew it, we were hooked on this cute little gaymer, especially after seeing that he too adored him some Sailor Moon as much as we did. We had found a video of him announcing his upcoming YouTube series (which was weeks prior) so we did a little searching and BAM! We found him.
In his first I Just Arted vlog on his YouTube Channel in April of 2016, he admitted to his viewers that his first drawing was of our favorite, Usagi Tsukino aka Sailor Moon at the age of five or six. He also did a little Q & A from fans which we thought was quite nice. We love him because he is a genuinely nice human being, who's sole purpose on creating his art is to make his viewers smile, and what is more, for his viewers to also be comfortable about being true to themselves. And love that he possesses that quality himself.
In recent times, D'Onofrio took part as an official guest at ANI:ME 2016 in Abu Dhabi, UAE. He was also the official emcee for the World Cosplay Summit in the Middle East, which we think is quite amazing. He released his first Japanese cover single, “WARNING” and performed it at AkaiCon 2016. which can be heard below:
D'Onofrio is expected to perform at AnimeExpoAX2017 at Night Cafe in July as seen in the artist's June 2nd tweet below. And we cannot wait to see what else is in store for him! StevenLovesBoA, GLAMBOYANTLovesSteveN.
